The True Meaning of ‘Clock Shavings': A Letter from a Reader

I have mentioned in many interviews recently that the title of my new book Clock Shavings is derived from this quote from The God of the Witches by Margaret Alice Murray: The Swedish witches had a special rite which was obviously intended to impress ignorant minds. They were given a little bag containing a few shavings of a clock to which a stone was tied; they threw this into the water, saying, ‘As these shavings of the clock do never return to the clock from which they are taken, so may my soul never return to heaven.’ I had theorized that this unique phrase must refer to the metal filings that might fall from the gears of a clock over time. But reader Alain Wilmots has a much more plausible explanation. He wrote to me thusly: Hi Mrs. Twyman, I listened to your interviews on Red Ice Radio (first hour on youtube), and I remembered I happen to know the true meaning of the term ‘Clock Shavings’, as someone told the story when I was a kid. The English-speaking people seem to have been put on a wrong foot by a mistranslation. The term has come to us via Swedish [...]

The Invisible Mountain: Is it real?

On New Year’s Day 2015, a fascinating article appeared in the Sydney Morning Herald regarding the last moments of AirAsia Flight 8501, the wreckage of which was found in the Karimata Strait near Sumatra. Apparently, the plane was subject to forces that sent it straight up in the air very quickly, and then straight down very quickly as well: Leaked figures show the plane climbed at a virtually unprecedented rate of 6000 to 9000 feet per minute, and “you can’t do that at altitude in an Airbus 320 with pilot action.” … The plane then fell at an even more incredible rate: 11,000 feet per minute with bursts of up to 24,000 feet per minute…. As for an explanation, he said it was a “mystery.” Elsewhere in the article, Indonesian aviation analyst Gerry Soejatman was also quoted as saying: “[It] didn’t fall out of the sky like an aeroplane… It was like a piece of metal being thrown down. It’s really hard to comprehend… The way it goes down is bordering on the edge of logic.” Was it possible that a storm of some sort caused this? Apparently, it is possible: Mr Marosszeky, a Research Fellow at the University of [...]

The Origin of Sado-Masochism in the Black Mass and Witch’s Sabbath

The book of sins is an edition ne varietur. New sins cannot be invented, and old ones never disappear. – J.-K. Huysmans, La-Bas This Valentine’s Day, as you present your lover with a 50 Shades of Grey-themed Vermont Teddy Bear, in the back of your mind you won’t be able to stop thinking about the Satanic origin of the bondage subculture. As you tie her up to the bedposts that night, you won’t be able to shake the image of her naked body as an altar upon which unholy rites could be celebrated, including the sacrifice of unbaptised babies, the defilement of the Holy Host, and other such blasphemies. This is because the true genesis of this trendy modern expression of sexual deviancy is with the ceremony known as the “Black Mass,” and, to a certain extent, the Witch’s Sabbath. The term “Sadism” comes of course from the erotic novels of the Marquis de Sade, including Justine and the sequel, Juliette. Those who have not read these works may not be aware that the Black Mass is celebrated several times in both novels as part of the debaucherous orgies described. Dr. Iwan Bloch, the famous translator of De Sade’s works, [...]

The Crucified Serpent and the Book of Nabathean Agriculture

In my 2010 book Money Grows on the Tree of Knowledge, I wrote about the symbol of the crucified serpent: It is found in the story of the “Nehushtan,” the brazen serpent mounted on a stick that Moses used to heal the people of Israel after they had been bitten by “fiery serpents” sent by the Lord. In Christian theology, this symbol of the “crucified serpent” is seen as analogous to Jesus being hung upon the cross, which healed the sins of mankind. Moses and the Nahushtan The crucified serpent was one of the central images featured in the alchemical manuscript The Sacred Book of Abraham the Jew, famously translated by Nicholas Flamel. It represents the secret of the Philosopher’s Stone that can transform any thing into any other thing at will. All of this is related intimately to the history of the word “dollar” and the origin of the dollar sign. In the year 1516, just five years before the Spaniards began looting silver and gold from America, Count Stephan Hieronymus Schlick discovered major silver deposits near his ancestral home in Jachymov, Bohemia (now in the Czech Republic). He began not only mining the silver, but minting it into [...]

Let the Heavens Fall: The Rites of Destruction

Ancient mankind definitely felt that the heavens had control over their lives. The stars themselves were synonymous with the concept of “fate.” Some believed that the start and planets were independent actors deciding the destiny of things below, and so they felt it was worth praying and making sacrifices to the celestial intelligences that they believed were connected with these heavenly bodies. Others, such as many of the philosophers quoted in the ancient Syriac farmer’s handbook called The Book of Nabathean Agriculture, believed that the heavens were a mechanism, influencing the world below, but itself just a machine, and the only true control was exercised by the God or gods that created that mechanism. These were the only ones worth praying to. Nabathean Agriculture goes on at great length about how the planets in particular exercise this influence. The elements of the Earth, it says, each have special properties that connect them with certain planets. So the movement of these planets, and how they act upon each other (whether helping or hindering each other’s energies, depending upon their alignment with one another) influences the elements in our physical bodies and in the world around us. Some of the authors quoted [...]

Mont St. Michel, the Supertide, and the underground Sanctuary of the Dragon

Today, 10,000 people showed up at Mont. St. Michel (a mountaintop abbey) in France to observe a “supertide” which occurs every 18 years because of a certain alignment of the sun, the moon, and the Earth. It turns the mountain temporarily into an island. Mon St. Michel before the supertide Many years ago I wrote an article for Dagobert’s Revenge Magazine where I discussed essays published in the French journal Vaincre, put out by the secret society Alpha Galates during WWII. The people behind Alpha Galates later became involved with the Priory of Sion. In one of the quoted essays, The ‘Southern Cross’– Rallying Point for the Pure of Heart, by Auguste Brisieux, it is claimed that, after the sinking of the continent of Atlantis, “those who survived succeeded in establishing themselves on our present continent, in our Brittany.” Then, in another essay, “In The East and the West,” by Le Comte de Moncharville, the author describes going to Tibet and being taken by monks there into the Hollow Earth and the underground city of Agartha. He says: During the mission to Tibet I succeeded in making contact– while I was in Lhasa, in the Forbidden City of Agartha, which [...]

The Pectorius of Autun and the Secret Dossiers of Henri Lobineau

At the end of my book The Merovingian Mythos and the Mystery of Rennes-le-Chateau, I presented a somewhat clumsy translation from French to English that I had done of one of the essays included in the Secret Dossiers of Henry Lobineau. You can find the translation here as well. If you don’t know what the Secret Dossiers are, this article I wrote in 1998 for Dagobert’s Revenge Magazine explains it well enough as follows: [In] 1956… someone claiming to be the Priory of Sion began to release a flood of apparent propaganda, the best of which was deposited in Paris’ Bibliotheque Nationale. Often it would be released under obvious pseudonyms of symbolic significance, such as “Marie-Madeleine” (“Mary Magdalene’) and “Antoine l’Ermite” (“St. Anthony the Hermit”). Other times it was published under the names of actual people, (some of whom died mysteriously shortly after publication). For instance, Dossiers Secrets (Secret Dossiers), was a strange collection of purported data pertaining to the Merovingians and the Priory of Sion. It contained genealogies, letters, newspaper clippings, and other scraps all thrown together, along with commentary from the author, “Henri Lobineau,” and some other unnamed commentator. However, within the Dossiers themselves it is revealed that “Lobineau” [...]

The Meaning of “Noon Blue Apples”: the “One-Day Grapes” of Dionysus

In the mystery of Rennes-le-Chateau, France (which I wrote about in my 2004 book The Merovingian Mythos and the Mystery of Rennes-le-Chateau), there is the phrase “at noon blue apples” that comes at the end of a coded message discovered at the church of Mary Magdalene there in the village. The words “blue apples” have usually been taken as a term for grapes, on the allegation that this is an idiom in use amongst the rural population there. This then, is often taken as a reference to wine, and the vine, and thus an allegory of blood and a bloodline, particularly the Merovingian royal dynasty of France that is at the heart of the Rennes-le-Chateau enigma. There are other interpretations as well. As for the reason why they are said to be “at noon,” there are many theories also, but it is still unknown. The whole message that this phrase is a part of is a series of nonsequitors, the meaning of which can only be speculated at. However, I think I have found, quite by accident, what “at noon blue apples” refers to, if “blue apples” are in fact grapes. From Robert Eisler’s 1920 book Orpheus the Fisher, we [...]

My work for Ground Zero with Clyde Lewis

As you can tell, until recently I had taken a lengthy hiatus from posting on this site since March. Even before then, I did not have time to even tell anybody what I was up to. From October 2014 through much of May 2015, I had the privilege of working as the Executive Producer of the national radio show Ground Zero with Clyde Lewis, which broadcasts every weeknight to over 200 affiliated stations. It was great fun, and a lot of work. Throughout that time, I was too busy to even announce my own numerous appearances on the program, (or my appearances on any other program for that matter, of which there were several). Since departing from the show in May, I have been working feverishly on two new book projects that will be announced soon. Having completed these, I now have a moment to reminisce about the times during my employment there that I appeared as a guest, or to make brief comments, on Ground Zero, as well as other shows with other guests that I had a particular hand in and am especially proud of. A list of these can be found below (minus a few that I’ve [...]

Found Again: The “Templar Artifacts” of Hammer-Purgstall

I am currently in the final stages of preparation to publish my newest and most important book, co-written with writer on Gnostic subjects, Alexander Rivera of The Aeon Eye. The book is called Baphomet: The Temple Mystery Unveiled, and it is the most exhaustive history of the subject written to date, covering the origins of the concept and its influence on the activities of occult secret societies, as well as a revelation on the hidden doctrine of the Knights Templar. In the course of our investigation, quite a bit of important new information was brought to light. Baphomet, of course, was the alleged name of the alleged demon allegedly worshipped in the form of a skull or a severed head by the Knights Templar (the elite Christian fighting force during the Crusades) in allegedly blasphemous rituals. For this they were prosecuted by the king of France in 1307 and eventually disbanded by the church that had chartered them two hundred years earlier. I have been working on this project since 2007, and last year brought Rivera on to help me finish it, which he’s done a superb job of. We also had the help of two others whom we couldn’t [...]

PRESS RELEASE: American Writers Find Alleged “Templar Artifacts” relating to “Baphomet” Hiding in Plain Sight at British Museum

As the anniversary of the October 13, 1307 mass arrest of the Knights Templar in France looms near, two American researchers, Tracy R. Twyman and Alexander Rivera, have announced that they have, for the first time, traced the real origin and meaning of the blasphemous idol that the Templars were accused of worshipping in secret ceremonies: the Baphomet. What’s more, in the course of their investigation, they had an important Latin text translated that has been frequently referenced but rarely read by researchers on the subject for almost 200 years. In this text from 1818, Mysterium Baphometis Revelatum (The Mystery of Baphomet Revealed) by Baron Joseph von Hammer-Purgstall, the author claimed to have discovered a number of idols and other artifacts on former Templar properties, the imagery of which allegedly sheds light on the heretical secret rites and beliefs of the Templars. If that interpretation is true, these would seem to have included child sacrifice and Devil worship, along with wild orgies of pedophilia and bestiality. The translation of this text led to the discovery by our American authors, just a couple of months ago, that two of the artifacts mentioned in Hammer-Purgstall’s book (items long thought by some writers [...]

“The disciples of the Light rose up against me, and chained me in the Pit for all eternity.” “When was this?” “Before time.” “Now what does that mean?” “Before time.” “WHAT DOES BEFORE TIME MEAN?” “Before time, and light, and space, and matter. Before the cataclysm. Before this universe was created.” “That’s impossible. no life could have existed back then.” “Is that YOUR religion?”

The Chinon Parchment and the Church apologia on the Templars

Below is a video that I mentioned in the interview with Freeman Fly that will air on The Free Zone this Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 8 PM EST, promoting my new book written with Alexander Rivera, Baphomet: The Temple Mystery Unveiled, which is set to go to press this weekend. The video features Barbara Frale, discoverer of the controversial Chinon Parchment, offering what seems like propaganda and apologia on behalf of both the Church and the Templar Knighthood they chartered. In the Freeman interview, I question the way the Parchment was allegedly found: suddenly after 700 years of being lost in the Vatican Secret Archives. I also question the way that the media has chosen to portray the contents of the Parchment: as being exculpatory of the Templars on the issues of heresy, blasphemy, and sexual immorality (as those terms were defined at the time). As part of this discussion, I mentioned a National Geographic documentary I saw on YouTube featuring Ms. Frale. The show presents the entire Church leadership as hapless pawns in the hands of the king of France, and the Templars as innocent casualties of politics and greed. Frale, a paleographist who’s worked at the Vatican [...]
